About TTRC
The Tasmanian Thoroughbred Racing Council (TTRC) is the statutory body for racing in Tasmania.
This Principal Racing Authority was set up by the Australian Racing Board with consensual agreement to abide by and to enforce the Australian Rules of Racing which are within the authority of the Australian Racing Board.

Functions
The Tasmanian Thoroughbred Racing Council is responsible for the following specific functions:
- To make and administer the Rules of Racing
- To prepare budgets
- To represent Tasmanian thoroughbred racing at national forums
- To publish industry journals
- To manage and oversee nominations, acceptances and field selections; handicapping & grading and race programming
- To develop and administer guidelines for the conduct of race meetings

The State Programming Committee meets periodically and consults with the Australian Trainers Association (Tasmanian Branch) to determine the ongoing race programme and recommends amendments as necessary.
