Sunday's Hobart meeting gets green light 13 / 03 / 2010

Tasracing has welcomed a decision by stewards enabling Sunday's thoroughbred meeting at Tattersall's Park to go ahead.

"We are obviously very pleased that, after the cancellation of Tuesday's meeting, the stewards have cleared the track for racing at the weekend," Tasracing Chief Executive Gary Lottering said.

"Tasracing understands that racing industry participants want to race, and that Tuesday's decision by stewards was disappointing for these people.

"We have undertaken some important improvement works to the tracks since last winter, and more work is planned.

"The solution we are implementing is not an overnight one and it will take some time.

"But we are confident that once the work is completed, the track will be in an excellent condition going forward," Lottering said.
